TOPIC: VICTORY STARTS FROM THE MIND

Beloved people of God, as we march on in this month of “Marching on to Victory”, I have this burning message to share with you. Life is a battle field. For you to win battles of life, your mind must be soundly prepared. Battles of life range from battle over sin, battle over household wickedness (principalities and powers), battle to succeed in career and business, to mention but a few. God has not designed you to lose in all these battles; rather, He has made adequate provisions for your victory which starts from the mind. Proverbs 4:23 says “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it springs the issues of life”.

The first battle every believer must win is battle over sin. At salvation when you give your life to Christ, God gives you victory by translating you from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of His dear Son (Col.1:13). Romans 10:9-10 says “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”. Many people who do not believe God for his word see the above scripture as too simple to be real. Satan will never want his captives loosed. You are to believe in your heart and let your mind accept the offer of Jesus Christ.

Every act of righteousness or sin starts from the mind. It is important for you to prepare your mind for righteous living. Galatians 6:8 says “For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life”. To prepare for victory over sin you need to sow to the Spirit by feeding your mind with the word of God.  For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Rom. 8:5-6). The key to living in victory over sin is what you do with your mind. You have heard the saying, "An idle mind is the playground of the Devil". That is literally true. It is only when we disobey God in our use of time,  and allow our minds to be idle, that Satan is able to get a foothold.

Replace the things that draw you into impurity with activities that strengthen your spirit. Deepen your walk with God through prayer, Bible study, worship, fellowship with Godly Christians, and engrafting God’s Word into your heart and life. Strengthening your spirit in these ways will help you win the war against the devil. Like a computer programme with software that is programmed to perform certain tasks, God want you to programme your mind for victorious living. This you can achieved when you allow Christ to dominate your mind and believe that you are more than conqueror in Christ.

You are too loaded to crash before temptation and the tempter. Take your stand and  God will take you through in Jesus' name: Ephesians  3:19-21 says "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.  3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,  3:21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen".

You carry the fullness of God to win all battles. You cannot fail and you will not fail in Jesus' name.
